What you are getting
Gideon goes to Savannah. A child from a powerful sorcerer family has been taken from awarded house without a single ward being touched, and he is not the first. TheConclave needs an auramancer to see what nobody else can see, and Gideon is the closest one they have.
This is the biggest, most dangerous case of the series so far. You get the Savannah Conclave and its hidden headquarters behind a colonial powder magazine. You get a pyromancer family one bad night away from starting a war. You get Thane the minotaur and Director Kedros the dryad. You get a great deal more of Dacey’s fire. And you get answers to some questions that have been hanging over Gideon since Book 1, along with a couple of new ones I am not sorry about at all.
It is a complete story with a real ending. It also sets up Book 4, and I already know what happens there.

Ward Breaker is Book 3, and while I have written it so a new reader can follow along, it is much better if you have met Gideon and Dacey first. The series starts with Gideon Bean and continues with Spirit Marked. Both are available now.
