Pyromancer
Pyromancers are human bloodlines that carry fire in their blood. They are not shifters and they are not spirits; they are people, born into families where the gift runs through generations like eye color, and where a child learns to feed the household flames before she learns to read. Their magic is heat. To anyone who can sense it, a pyromancer's aura is a wall of bonfire warmth, and a house where several generations have lived together burns at the edges of perception like a kiln with the door open.
Though they live quietly among ordinary people, pyromancers are old-fashioned in the way that old families tend to be. They keep their hearths burning without a log in them. They ward their homes in rings of living flame, layer on layer, each generation adding its own. They hold grudges the way they hold heat, for a very long time, and rivalries between pyromancer families have burned down more than one city block over the centuries. When a pyromancer loses her temper, ghostly flame rises off her shoulders and forearms like heat off summer asphalt. When she loses something she loves, the whole street knows it.
